Start on your Fire TV

  1. Transfer the APK to your Fire TV using your file transfer or file manager app.
  2. Open Settings → My Fire TV (or Device & Software) → Developer Options → Install unknown apps. Allow the app you use to open the APK. Some versions call this Apps from Unknown Sources. If Developer Options is hidden, select the device name seven times under About.
  3. Install and open Remote Ranger Fire TV. Choose Share this Fire TV.
  4. Choose Enable control permission. In Accessibility settings, enable Remote Ranger Fire TV if your firmware offers a service entry. If it does not, return and choose Share screen only; your helper can watch while you use the physical remote.
  5. Choose Show my connection code and approve the system screen-capture prompt with your physical remote. If your firmware does not offer screen capture, the app cannot start sharing.
  6. Your helper opens the private TV test controller and enters the nine digits. Phone and TV controllers use separate sessions.

What to expect

Directions, OK, Home, Back and TV Settings are outside the picture. Fire OS 7/8 uses accessible button focus for directions; some apps may still need the physical remote. Protected video may appear black. No audio is shared.

Sharing stays active after Home and retries brief network interruptions. Stop, reboot or revoked capture ends the session and needs fresh approval. No root or ADB debugging is needed for normal use.

Test-build status

10 simulated Android tests and 22 service/browser tests passed. A physical Fire TV test is still required to verify capture, control, sleep behavior and the permission screens on your firmware.
